Over the past few years there has been a tradition of longevity researchers and activists around the world organizing events on or around October 1 — the UN International Day of Older Persons, or Longevity Day. This year we want to continue this tradition by doing something special, making a video to showcase you, our community, as it is only with your outstanding help that we have been able to accomplish so much in such a short period of time.
So now it is your turn to tell us your story, and let the world know why you care about research to end the diseases of aging.
How To Be Involved:
1. Be a Lifespan Hero (existing or new) OR contributor to our currently supported project, MouseAge (Note: this is not a hard requirement, but it’s nice to pair words with action!)
2. Shoot a short video (maximum 2 minutes), explaining why you personally care about life extension and/or LEAF, and somewhere including the phrase “I Am The Lifespan”.
3. Upload your video to YouTube as an “unlisted” video or to a service like DropBox or GoogleDrive and send the video link to firstname.lastname@example.org with the email subject “I Am The Lifespan Video” before November 1*. You can also do a Facebook Live video and just sent us the link afterwards, tagging #IAmTheLifespan if you like ;)
*by sending us your video you agree to allow us to make use of its contents as described
We will be accepting videos all through the month of October, Longevity Month, and we are also extending the MouseAge campaign to match this timeline. With these videos we will create a compilation to be unveiled on Giving Tuesday , November 28, 2017. Selected clips from your stories may also be added into a new version of our Lifespan Hero Video as well. We also may do periodic live stream events where you can join us have your voice be heard in real time.
